Introduce yourself briefly and state what triggered you to join POPCORN.
Hello, I am Katrien. Married and mum of two grown-up sons. I have swum through many waters in my career but the common thread is really to work with PEOPLE. When coaching came my way, a blissful world opened up for me. I learned how to support people to get clarity in their quest and create real change. Starting with myself.
I am a water rat, love being outdoors immensely and enjoy reading, architecture and nature. Forest, sea, mountains...
I was already a career coach and freelance trainer/coach at Track Abilities when I heard Popcorn was starting up. I joined because I find a nice group of colleagues there with whom I can regularly exchange experiences. Popcorn also allows me - besides coaching individuals - to stay in touch and work within organisations and companies. It is there that the interaction happens in teams and I can also support leaders in their growth. A super combo. I love it!
I also find it blissful to help people recover from toxic stress. I do that as a stress and burnout coach and I also give relaxation sessions for groups.
Why do you love doing your job as a career coach?
I love it when people gain insight into what is appropriate for them in terms of a job, or what is needed so that they feel really good again when they are at work. You then see them start to feel that enthusiasm again in their (old or new) job.
We find it so difficult to bring change on our own. And as a coach, you support people so that they can. So blissful to see after the last session how people have grown, really started to take steps and that they can continue without me. That makes my eyes shine.
POPCORN has 3 values: personal connection, originality and spunk! Choose one and state why it suits you.
The spunk that POPCORN stands for really appeals to me. I like playfulness myself and sometimes that playfulness and spunk is just what is needed to get some movement in what is stuck.
